Marburger Farm Antique Show      Special Events Spring 2010

Tuesday March 30 – Saturday April 3

1. Jo Packham, Creator and Editor of Where Women Create Magazine, will sign copies of her innovative new magazine beginning Tues. March 30. Where Women Create features the workspaces of designers, artists and dealers. While here, WWC will photograph Marburger Farm dealer Magnolia Pearl and other Marburger dealers for future issues. Come share your creativity with Jo and her WWC team.

2. Insider tips: In addition to the ten tents of vendors, be sure to visit vendors in the twelve historic buildings at the show. Many offer air-conditioning. All shoppers will receive “The Howdy”---the official guide to Marburger Farm with maps, vendor locations and information about on-site shipping. Also look for the red magazine racks filled with free publications on antiques and home decor. The 43 acre site of the Marburger Farm Antique Show includes an ATM, free parking and courtesy shuttles to and from the parking area.

3. Guest Bloggers at the Show are Fancy Smith from CactusCreekDaily.com and Bryan Rindfuss from The San Antonio Current. See sacurrent.com/blog/default.asp?perm=69971.

If you run a blog or website and would like to join them, plus the 350+ dealers and tens of thousands of shoppers, let us know. Marburger Farm is blogger friendly with free wireless internet and several cool places to update your blog – including an indoor lounge and full service outdoor café. For more information, please contact Rick McConn at 713.703.6371 or rick@marburgershow.com

4. Hollie Davis and Andrew Richmond will be our guests this Spring. Hollie and Andrew write a monthly story in the Maine Antique Digest known as The Young Collector. Their knowledge and enthusiasm for the world of antiques has energized an entire class of younger collectors and dealers. They will be roaming the field and available to answer questions regarding collections and offering their insight to dealers and shoppers alike – of all ages.

5. We welcome writers Kerry Rupp and Gretchen von Rochow and the debut of their new book, The Parisian Cowboy’s Guide to Round Top, featuring many Marburger Farm exhibitors.

6. Media: KTEX 106.1 FM Radio will broadcast live from the show on Thursday April 1. Enjoy the music and prizes, including Marburger Farm souvenirs.

7. Register for the daily cash drawings by placing your admission card in the “Marburger Mailboxes” or at the Show Office front porch. Also stop by the Office for a Marburger Farm “Peace, Love & Antiques” T-shirt, available in sizes for women, men and children.

8. Food News – We’ve added a third food cafe to the Marburger Farm Café where the Austin catering company, Sterling Affairs, will offer more food, more quickly for our customers.

9. Live Flower & Plant Sale at Wilde Weedz in Tent W, next to the General Store -- Seasonal and blooming plants to jump-start spring in your home or garden, plus garden antiques.

10. Marburger Farm is now available to host your next event. During the antique “off season,” you can book weddings, receptions, reunions, photography, parties or other events. For information, see marburgerfarmevents.com or call Rick McConn at 713-703-6371.
